PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE | Fall Reflections: Adaptability in Coaching

Dear Coaching Community,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, filled with connection and relaxation. I spent my long weekend -forest bathing, enjoying a quiet hike through the woods. While walking, I was struck by something simple yet profound: no two reds are the same, no two yellows identical, no two oranges exactly alike. Each leaf is unique, just as each of us is - with our own talents, experiences, and perspectives.

It reminded me: the coaching industry is evolving at a remarkable pace. Between AI, economic shifts, geopolitical changes, shifting organizational dynamics, generational differences, and the new challenges clients face daily, our landscape is anything but static.

I’ve noticed a pattern in working with clients in their early 20s: they often define the coaching partnership differently than clients in their 40s or 50s. Many expect a more direct, active collaboration, with shared responsibility for outcomes. This contrast underscores just how critical adaptability is in our work - what works for one client may need to be reimagined for another.

So, I ask you as coaches: What keeps you agile? How are you ensuring your approach matches the current needs of your clients and organizations? How do you stay abreast of emerging trends and demands?

As a chapter, we’re embracing the same adaptability. Our programming is evolving to meet the diverse needs of our community—from experiential skill labs to initiatives supporting coaching growth—creating meaningful opportunities to learn, connect, and expand your practice. You’ll find more details in this newsletter.

And of course, our upcoming in-person Awards Gala on October 29th will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate contributions and connect face-to-face.

I also warmly invite you to connect with me directly if you’d like to share your reflections, ideas, or just a quick chat. Feel free to schedule a time by clicking HERE.

Here’s to embracing the season, finding our moments of calm, and stepping into fall with energy and connection.

Warmly,

Mentor Coaching with Jo Bennett, ACPC, PCC, ACE | Submitted by: Jo Bennett

Engage with confidence in a personalized 1:1 space where you can flourish as a coach!

For five years I have mentored clients in the early stages of their coaching journey: individuals in ICF accreditation programs, those applying for an ACC or PCC credential, as well as ICF members renewing their ACC credential. I am specifically trained in mentor coaching and registered as a mentor coach with ICF.

I take a coach approach with mentor clients to deepen their self reflection skills, collaborating to explore growth edges while celebrating current gifts. There is ample time to steep in the ICF Code of Ethics and Core Competencies for rich alignment. We co-generate thoughtful feedback on two or more recorded calls. My coach clients build on insights discovered during and between our sessions as they witness their growth in their own client's results.

More information is available on my website: https://solomojo.ca/icf-mentor-coach

It is a joy and privilege to work with newer coaches. Their dedication to learning inspires me to grow and thrive as a professional.

I look forward to working with you!
