PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE August 2025
Dear Coaching Community,
While we hope you’ve enjoyed some sunshine and rest this summer, it’s also been a season of progress for our chapter.
One of our biggest milestones was transitioning our administration to the new Base Consulting team.
Behind the scenes, the board and Base team have been working hard to make this shift seamless. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved — especially Kim and the Virtual Options team — for your guidance and support through this change. We’re stepping into fall stronger, more connected, and ready to bring even more value to our members.
While I did give up a little of my vacation time, I also managed to enjoy some of the best hikes — and an unforgettable moment. This picture of Niagara Falls was taken during a helicopter ride, and for me, it holds two powerful lessons.
First, as a child I had a picture of Niagara Falls in my room. I would often look at it and imagine what it might be like to see it in person. Standing there (or rather, flying above it) reminded me just how powerful visualization and setting intentions can be.
Second, it’s all about perspective. I’ve been on the boat ride right up close to the falls — a thrilling, wet, and awe-filled experience. But seeing it from the air changed everything. It was the same place, yet a completely different experience.
As coaches, that’s part of our craft — helping clients shift perspectives that no longer serve them, so they can see new possibilities.
How does this picture — and its story — resonate with you?
Mark Your Calendars!
September brings our Annual Meeting, and we’d love to see you there. This virtual gathering is where the whole board will share updates, reflections, and what’s ahead for our chapter. As members, your participation is essential— we need you to be part of it.
October is all about celebration. Our in-person Awards Event is coming, and we’ve been working hard to make it a memorable evening.
You will find the registration links to both these events on the ICF Toronto event page this soon.
This fall, we have many more exciting initiatives in the works — from learning opportunities to new ways to engage with your chapter and peers. And as always, I’d love to connect — you can reach me anytime by clicking HERE.
Looking forward to seeing you in the season ahead!
Best regards,

⚠️ Member Advisory: Be Cautious of Unsolicited Directory Invitations
We’ve recently heard from a few of our coaches about online directories reaching out with offers that may appear legitimate. However, those who joined have shared that they have not received any leads from being listed in these directories. Some of these organizations have also been posting profiles without consent, using multiple names, and soliciting memberships.
We encourage you to be cautious with any unsolicited invitations. Before sharing personal information or making a payment, we recommend verifying the legitimacy and value of the source.
Thank you to the members who brought this to our attention—your experiences help us keep our community informed and supported.

Mentor Coaching with Jo Bennett, ACPC, PCC, ACE | Submitted by: Jo Bennett
Engage with confidence in a personalized 1:1 space where you can flourish as a coach! For five years I have mentored clients in the early stages of their coaching journey: individuals in ICF accreditation programs, those applying for an ACC or PCC credential, as well as ICF members renewing their ACC credential. I am specifically trained in mentor coaching and registered as a mentor coach with ICF. I take a coach approach with mentor clients to deepen their self reflection skills, collaborating to explore growth edges while celebrating current gifts. There is ample time to steep in the ICF Code of Ethics and Core Competencies for rich alignment. We co-generate thoughtful feedback on two or more recorded calls. My coach clients build on insights discovered during and between our sessions as they witness their growth in their own client's results. More information is available on my website: https://solomojo.ca/icf-mentor-coach It is a joy and privilege to work with newer coaches. Their dedication to learning inspires me to grow and thrive as a professional. I look forward to working with you!
