PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Looking Ahead: Leadership Updates and the Future of Coaching
February 2026

Dear Coaching Community,

I hope you enjoyed a relaxing Family Day long weekend.

As we continue into the year, I want to share a few important updates.

First, I want to acknowledge and thank the volunteer leaders who continue to step forward to serve on the Board. Their willingness to contribute time, care, and leadership is what keeps our chapter strong and evolving.

We are currently in the process of Board recruitment, and you will receive more information soon about a Special Meeting for members to be held in March, where we will be appointing these leaders. You will receive more information.

You may also have noticed the recent launch of ICF Global’s new branding — a refreshed identity that reflects the continued growth and evolution of our profession worldwide.

In the same spirit, ICF has also released a new thought leadership report exploring the future of coaching and what our profession could look like in the years ahead. It’s a thoughtful and inspiring read for anyone curious about where coaching is heading. To view the report, click HERE.

A warm welcome to our new members who joined us recently. We’re glad you’re here and look forward to connecting with you across our community spaces. I had the opportunity meet few during the Etobicoke hub event last week.

Warmly,

Abirambika Ravivarman

Board Announcement:
Special Meeting for Members March 2026

The ICF Toronto Chapter Board of Directors would like to call a Special Meeting for Members, to be held virtually in March 2026, to appoint a President‑Elect, an essential step in preparing for the executive leadership transition planned for September 2027. This appointment at this time will help ensure continuity, stability, and strong strategic direction for the years ahead.

In addition, the Board will recommend the appointment of new Chapter Leaders ahead of our Annual Meeting in September 2026. These leadership roles are vital to strengthening our Chapter community and supporting our programs and services.

The atypical timing for leadership appointments, requiring this Special Meeting, is a product of the adjustment to our new fiscal cycle. We encourage all members to attend and take part in this important ICF Toronto member event. Additional details—including confirmed date, agenda, and candidate information—will be shared soon.

Thank you for your continued support as we shape our future leadership together!

Call for Volunteers: Join Our Governance Committee (Starting April 2026)

We are pleased to announce that applications are open for up to two volunteers to join our Governance Committee, launching in April 2026. This committee plays a vital role in strengthening our organizational leadership and ensuring we continue to uphold excellence in governance practices across all areas.

The Governance Committee, which will meet 4-6 times per year, will support several key functions, including:

  • Review Board policies and governance frameworks, ensuring they remain current and effective.
  • Supporting Director and Chapter Leader recruitment and succession planning.
  • Ensuring compliance with governance best practices and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Individuals with a demonstrated understanding of corporate and IT/AI governance, audit and compliance, strategic oversight, or policy review are strongly encouraged to apply by March 1, 2026Interested volunteers will be required to adhere to confidentiality, conflict‑of‑interest, and governance conduct standards.
